Baystate Health is seeking a Full-time ED Behavioral Counselor

What You Will Do:

As the Baystate Emergency Department Behavioral Counselor you will be under the direction of the Nurse Manager performs a wide range of functions related to the care and treatment of our patients in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in the multidisciplinary team approach to patient care

  • You will be asked to provide a safe and therapeutic environment and documentation of such.

  • Provide basic ADL care to our patients, demonstrate knowledge of the developmental stages and applies developmental theories and concepts when planning and implementing activities.

  • As the ED Counselor you will be expected to adhere to System and department compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations.

  • You will be expected to perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

  • Management reserves the right to change or add to the job responsibilities at any time.


What You Will Need:

Associate's Degree in Psychology, Education or related Human Service field.

2 years of related experience is required ( Will consider job related experience )

3-5 years of related experience is preferred


  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Excellent computer skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Must complete initial CPI training within 60 days of employment.

  • Age Specific Competencies in- service or equivalent training.

  • Behavior Management Training/Collaborative Problem Solving

  • Restraint and Seclusion in service or equivalent training

Other Information

What You Need To Know:

Full-time / 40 hours

3rd Shift - Hours: 11:00 pm to 7:30 am

Monday thru Sunday - you will be asked to work weekends and holidays
