CDM Smith CADD Drafter-Transportation in Hartford, Connecticut
As a member of this team you will contribute to CDM Smith's vision by:
-Supporting New England staff with drafting, detailing and plan production on existing and future bridge projects.
-Will work with staff in the preparation of bridge design project documents including plans, specs, and estimates using local, State, County, AASHTO, AISC or ACI standards and typical concrete and steel detailing procedures.
CDM Smith Employment Type:
-High school diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and/or 3D drafting with 11 years’ direct and relevant CADD/Design experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience). Or a 2 year degree in drafting/design technology and/or graphic/multimedia 3D model design, the candidate should have
8 years’ direct and relevant experience. Or a 4 year degree in drafting/design technology and/or
graphic/multimedia 3D model design, the candidate should have 7 years’ direct and relevant experience.
-The preferred candidate will be proficient in MicroStation and Inroads design platforms and familiar with ConnDOT design guidelines and Digital Design Environment.
-The candidate will be well-versed in structural bridge detailing and drafting procedures and will be able to produce structural plans quickly based on standard details and direction from Engineering staff.
-Knowledge of typical steel and concrete construction methods and practices and be able to quickly and efficiently create steel reinforcement and structural steel quantity estimates and material schedules.
